Fall Equinox Rituals

The Fall equinox is a time of the year when day and night are equal. A way of nature guiding us to balance and renewal.

When we tune in with the forces of nature, we access the power of collaborating with our environment, empowering our innate capacity for healing, discovery, and magic. The equinox is an opportunity to begin again and align our energy with what we desire to bring forward in the coming season.

Here are three simple practices to welcome the fall equinox. I also added an Ayurvedic Fall Recipe for deep sleep and vitality.

  1. During the day, notice the changes in nature, opening your senses to the first day of fall.

Breathe deep and full, noticing the fall's scents.

Look around you, taking in all the colors, shapes, and forms of the season.

Feel the ground beneath you and the wind against your body. Become aware of the sounds from nature.

Notice what you feel, the interconnection between you and nature.

2. Gather natural materials to honor the season.

Colored fall leaves, pine cones, pine needles, etc. Make them into a bundle or place them on a decorative plate. You can also add fall bounty items, I love the mini pumpkins :) plus seasonal spices such as cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise. Create a sacred space with your nature's findings and other personal objects.

3. Tune in with your heart with a journaling practice

You can set up the mood by lighting a candle

Begin with gratitude for the summer season. Write about what you did, received and learned

Afterward, tune in with the energy of the fall season

What are you ready to release, let go?

What needs balance and/ or renewal? What steps or actions are you willing to take?

What are your desires for the fall season?
What visions, images, feelings come to your mind/heart?
